Energy distribution, energy and utility networks
Request advice on route engineering and energy infrastructure
The expansion of high-performance energy and utility networks is a key prerequisite for the energy transition. DMT supports infrastructure projects in the fields of electricity, gas, hydrogen, water, heating and telecommunications with integrated engineering services across the entire value chain.
From the initial feasibility study through to planning and approval, right through to tendering, construction supervision and documentation, we support our clients as a reliable partner on projects involving gas and hydrogen pipelines, pipelines of all pressure ratings and dimensions, low-, medium- and high-voltage cables, new construction and decommissioning projects, or transmission and distribution networks.
Project management and construction supervision are handled either by our experts at DMT Engineering Surveying or by the Project Management Office. In this way, we ensure that projects are delivered on time and in compliance with all quality, safety and environmental requirements.

Let us bring together technical, economic, legal and environmental requirements to create a viable overall solution. I look forward to hearing from you!
In the early stages of a project, we examine the technical, economic and spatial feasibility of planned pipeline infrastructure. We analyse potential route corridors, assess spatial constraints and compare different options in order to establish a sound basis for the project’s further development.
Based on the preferred option selected, we draw up the technical plans for transmission and distribution networks. In doing so, we lay the groundwork for a safe, cost-effective and regulatory-compliant implementation.
In parallel with the technical planning, we oversee the approval processes and coordinate the relevant technical and regulatory matters. The aim is to ensure that the project is implemented in a legally compliant and efficient manner.

As part of the development of Germany’s hydrogen infrastructure, DMT is undertaking the technical design of the Voerde–Walsum H2 pipeline.
The project comprises an approximately eight-kilometre-long DN 400 pipeline. Specific technical requirements arise from several planned horizontal directional drilling (HDD) operations, which enable the pipeline to cross sensitive areas in a way that minimises the impact on the environment.

DMT provided support throughout all phases of the project – from planning to as-built documentation – for the construction of a new high-pressure gas pipeline approximately 3.5 kilometres long.
