Radioactive substances are used in many fields of application, including medical technology, geophysical drilling and non-destructive testing. The use of ionising radiation entails specific requirements regarding safety, organisation and regulatory compliance. To effectively protect staff, the public and the environment, the handling and transport of radioactive materials are regulated by law and, in many cases, require authorisation.
A key component of these precautionary measures is the safeguarding of radioactive materials against theft, as well as against sabotage and other interference by third parties. DMT supports companies that handle radioactive materials in the structured development and implementation of appropriate security measures. This includes the design and preparation of security reports in accordance with DIN 25422, as well as ensuring technical compliance with the requirements of the SEWD guideline. In this way, we establish a robust foundation for safe and transparent procedures under nuclear and radiation protection legislation.

The security of radiation sources and other radioactive sources requires coordinated technical, organisational and documentation measures. DMT develops security concepts tailored to the respective risk potential, scope of application and regulatory requirements.

A key component of plant safety is transparent and compliant documentation. We provide support in the design and preparation of safety reports in accordance with DIN 25422 for the storage and handling of other radioactive substances.

Safety measures are closely linked to the regulatory requirements set out in the Atomic Energy Act, the Radiation Protection Act and the Radiation Protection Ordinance. We assist companies with the technical preparation and structuring of procedures under atomic energy and radiation protection law.

The Directive on Protection against Interference and Other Third-Party Interventions (SEWD) sets out specific requirements for securing sensitive applications and facilities. DMT provides support with the technical assessment and practical implementation of these requirements.
