Originally established in 2018, the company has been re‑established with in‑country personnel since 2024. The business is led by Principal Geotechnical Engineer and General Manager, Matt Boyer, who is responsible for all technical delivery, project management, subcontractor coordination, and client engagement as well as all other operational functions like administration and marketing. The company operates from a serviced office near Brisbane city centre, where meeting facilities support client interaction.

Geotechnical investigation of the site for a port expansion in Jazan City on the Red Sea in Saudi Arabia
DMT was commissioned as the detailed design consultant for the structural, electrical, landscaping, telecommunications and hydraulic engineering works relating to a secure duty-free zone, which forms part of a new port expansion on reclaimed land. As part of this work, approximately 584 m of coastal revetment had to be constructed and an area measuring approximately 1,500 m × 500 m had to be reinforced so that it could support stacked, enclosed and stored loads without excessive long-term settlement.
DMT Australia reviewed all available geotechnical data and third-party assessments regarding the liquefaction susceptibility of the untreated ground on behalf of Jazan City for Primary and Downstream Industries (JCPDI) and concluded that ground improvement to a depth of 15 metres would be required.
