Safe, cost-effective and sustainable infrastructure and construction projects.
Request Geotechnical Consulting for Your Project
Our engineering expertise provides the basis for decision-making on infrastructure and construction projects involving complex geological, technical and economic requirements.
From the initial project concept right through to safety measures during construction, we support our clients with ground investigations, geotechnical reports and project-specific consultancy. By incorporating geotechnical expertise at an early stage, we identify risks in good time, clarify interfaces and lay the foundations for efficient, safe and resource-efficient planning.
Our services begin in the early stages of a project with specialist geotechnical design and consultancy. We assess the bearing capacity of the ground, coordinate geotechnical requirements with the structural engineering design, and develop suitable foundation and stabilisation concepts. This lays the foundation for the cost-effective and safe implementation of your project.
In
addition to site and soil investigations, we utilise engineering geophysical techniques. Electromagnetic methods, geoelectric surveys and radar measurement techniques enable high-resolution mapping of the subsoil and the precise determination of relevant geotechnical parameters.

Geotechnical engineering involves investigating and assessing the ground as the basis for the planning, construction and operation of infrastructure and building projects. This includes, amongst other things, ground investigations, geotechnical reports, advice on foundations, and designs for excavation pits, slopes and safety measures.
An early-stage investigation provides clarity regarding the characteristics and risks of the subsoil. This enables foundation and stabilisation concepts to be developed in line with requirements, issues to be clarified at an early stage, and the impact on deadlines, costs and safety to be minimised.
A geotechnical report is usually required when the ground conditions need to be assessed for the planning and execution of a construction project. It provides essential information for the foundations, excavation planning, structural stability and other technical decisions.
Depending on the project requirements, we combine direct site and ground investigations with laboratory tests and engineering geophysical techniques. These include, for example, geoelectric surveys, electromagnetic methods and radar measurement techniques. This provides a reliable overall picture of the subsurface conditions.
Geotechnical design assesses soil and groundwater conditions, as well as any potential impacts on adjacent structures and infrastructure. On this basis, we develop concepts for stable excavation pits, suitable shoring methods and the necessary safety measures.
A thorough assessment of the building site enables foundation and stabilisation designs to be tailored to specific requirements. It helps to avoid risks and unnecessary intervention at an early stage, to use resources efficiently, and to ensure the long-term safety of structures.
Yes. DMT also provides support for construction projects during the construction phase where required, for example through on-site consultancy, inspection surveys, monitoring and the assessment of geotechnical issues that arise during the course of the works.
