Environmental planning lays the foundations for legally sound authorisation processes and supports the sustainable implementation of infrastructure, energy and industrial projects. DMT supports project developers through all phases of the planning and authorisation process, combining many years of specialist expertise with an interdisciplinary understanding of nature conservation, species protection and environmental law.
Our range of services includes the identification, assessment and documentation of environmentally relevant impacts, as well as the development of appropriate avoidance, mitigation and compensation measures.

The Landscape Management Plan assesses the impact of a project on nature and the landscape and sets out measures to prevent, minimise and offset any adverse effects. It forms a key component of many planning consent procedures.
This technical report on species protection examines the impact of a project on species subject to special and strict protection. It assesses the grounds for prohibition under species protection legislation and develops appropriate protection and mitigation measures to ensure that the project is eligible for authorisation.
The wildlife conservation potential analysis serves as an initial technical assessment of the possible presence of protected species. It is used in particular during the early stages of planning and helps to identify potential conflicts and determine the scope of the investigation required.
We carry out species-specific surveys and mapping, for example for birds, bats, amphibians, reptiles and other protected animal groups. The results provide a robust basis for assessments under species protection legislation.
By recording biotope types and habitat trees, we are creating a sound database for nature conservation assessments, regulations governing interventions, and compensation and protection strategies.
We provide support with the technical preparation and drafting of application documents for exemptions in landscape conservation areas (LSG) and nature reserves (NSG), and assist with liaising with the relevant authorities.
For projects within or in the vicinity of Natura 2000 sites, we carry out preliminary FFH assessments and FFH impact assessments. In doing so, we assess potential impacts on the conservation objectives of Flora-Fauna-Habitat (FFH) sites and Special Protection Areas (SPAs).
We provide support with environmental impact assessments and EIA reports in accordance with statutory requirements. In doing so, we analyse the impact of a project on people, animals, plants, soil, water, air, the climate, the landscape and cultural heritage.
Environmental construction supervision ensures that agreed environmental and species protection measures are implemented correctly during the construction phase. It minimises risks, supports compliance with regulatory requirements and enhances planning certainty.
Together, we develop solutions that balance nature conservation requirements, technical feasibility and economic objectives. Please speak to our expert about your project. We’d be happy to advise you on the necessary surveys, planning permission procedures and nature conservation requirements.

Environmental planning encompasses the assessment of projects from a nature conservation perspective, as well as the preparation of the necessary expert reports, maps and technical documents for authorisation and approval procedures.
A specialist report on species protection is required if a project is likely to have an impact on animal and plant species that are subject to special or strict protection.
The potential analysis serves as an initial assessment of possible occurrences of the species. The technical report includes a detailed examination based on reliable inventory data and legal assessments.
An FFH impact assessment is required if a project could significantly adversely affect Natura 2000 sites or their conservation objectives.
Environmental construction supervision monitors the implementation of environmental and species protection measures during the construction phase and helps to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and statutory provisions.
