Essen, 8 September 2025 – DMT, a company within the TÜV NORD GROUP, and the Danish software firm Mobaro are to collaborate in future to enable theme parks to carry out maintenance on their rides more quickly, safely and intelligently. The AI-powered monitoring system DMT RideGuard monitors the technical condition of rides in real time and is now being seamlessly integrated into Mobaro’s leading platform for digital maintenance and inspection management in amusement parks. This allows safety-related operational data from rides to be consolidated with maintenance and inspection processes on a single platform, saving both time and resources.
Amusement parks face the challenge of efficiently ensuring the safety and availability of their rides whilst dealing with increasing complexity. This poses particular challenges for operators, especially
during ongoing operations. With RideGuard, DMT has created a practical solution for the technical monitoring of rides, which is already being used successfully in several theme parks. Based on state-of-the-art IoT sensor technology, the system analyses the ride’s operating characteristics in real time. Through the intelligent evaluation of the collected data by a specially trained AI, DMT RideGuard reacts to any anomalies that arise and informs the operator immediately.
“Artificial intelligence already plays a central role in the maintenance of plant and processes – now AI is making its mark on amusement park rides. With the combination of AI-supported
monitoring and digital maintenance management, we are setting new standards for the safety and availability of amusement park rides. With RideGuard, we are leading the way in AI-based monitoring of rides. Thanks to seamless integration into the Mobaro maintenance management platform, we are significantly improving effectiveness, efficiency and usability,” says Dr Maik Tiedemann, CEO of DMT and CEO of TÜV NORD’s Energy & Resources division.”
Mobaro helps amusement ride operators ensure safer operations, smoother workflows and a better guest experience by digitising and interlinking the areas of safety, maintenance and operations: attractions worldwide rely on it. By linking the two systems, operators can not only identify discrepancies immediately, but also document and manage the corresponding measures directly within the same system – a crucial step towards greater safety and efficiency.
The first user of the new integrated solution is Karls Erlebnis-Dorf in Rövershagen. Until now, the park had been using both systems independently of one another. DMT RideGuard is now made available via the Mobaro software with no additional effort.
Maximilian Mairinger, Head of Experience & Events at Karls Erlebnis-Dorf, sees this as a major opportunity for the park: “At Karls, the safety of our guests is our top priority. By integrating
DMT RideGuard into Mobaro, we can detect irregularities in real time and react immediately. This enables us to provide our teams with the best possible support to operate our rides safely and reliably at all our locations.”
The integrated solution will be unveiled by DMT at the TÜV NORD GROUP and Mobaro stand for the first time at IAAPA Expo Europe 2025 in Barcelona.
