Dr Dirk Orlowsky is new Vice-President Elect of EAGE (European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers). Orlowsky took office on 6 June 2019, at the end of the 81st EAGE Conference in London. After a year in this post, he will become Vice-President of EAGE in 2020. In 2021, he will then take over the chairmanship of EAGE for another year.
At DMT, Orlowsky is responsible for the application and further development of exploration techniques for the exploration of raw materials, for the geophysical/geological description of deposits, for the exploration of near-surface subsoils in infrastructure projects and for the adaptation and application of special investigation methods in the field of repository mining.
EAGE is an international non-profit association with approximately 20,000 members worldwide, representing and promoting the interests of the deep and near-surface geosciences. The association regularly organizes trade fairs and conferences and supports young scientists and engineers by organizing lectures and events. The main sponsors are the world's leading oil/natural gas producers as well as an increasing number of companies in the field of renewable energies.
