DMT CEO Maik Tiedemann appointed to the hydrogen advisory board of the city of Essen

TÜV NORD GROUP and DMT are now supporting the successful market ramp-up of hydrogen technology in Essen and the Ruhr region through the appointment of Maik Tiedemann, member of the TÜV NORD GROUP Executive Board and CEO of DMT, to the Hydrogen Advisory Board of the City of Essen.

The H2 Advisory Board brings together the expertise of top companies and research institutions in the area to develop and implement high-profile projects in the field of hydrogen.

"The pressure to implement the energy transition under time constraints and challenges along the entire value chain is enormous. Safety and sustainability in combination with innovation and value creation are always at the forefront for us and our customers," said Tiedemann, who met with Essen Lord Mayor Thomas Kufen and other members of the board yesterday.

DMT is already developing novel concepts to ensure that the switch from fossil fuels to hydrogen is successful and provides expertise for the supply, network, distribution, storage and reconversion of hybrid energy, from the research phase, through analyses and consulting, to planning. To reflect the importance of this topic, a separate H2 group is currently being set up within the DMT GROUP to promote TÜV NORD-wide hydrogen activities.

"As part of TÜV NORD GROUP, we are making a major contribution to the successful market development of hydrogen technology and are pleased that we will also be able to contribute our consulting and engineering expertise to the Essen H2 Advisory Board in the future," said Tiedemann.
