Deep Geothermal Energy – Site Investigation: Seismological Monitoring

Reference Project Seismological Monitoring in Mol, Belgium

Surveillance of a deep geothermal plant with seismological monitoring in Mol, Belgium - Seismological monitoring records, evaluates and assesses the possible occurrence of induced seismicity during deep geothermal drilling. DMT operates state-of-the-art seismological meas-uring stations and vibration measuring systems in accordance with international standards.

In Mol, Belgium, DMT has been monitoring induced seismicity on the grounds of a geothermal plant since 2018, which on the one hand already operates a heating plant, but also serves as a research site for induced seismicity. There, we are able to provide the client with 3D repre-sentations of the localisations of the detected seismicity in real time at any time using DMT's own web frontend "Safeguard".
