Advance notice: 13th Expert Conference "Safety in Tunnels" 6th and 7th September in the Schlosshotel Bad Wilhelmshöhe, Kassel

The DMT Centre for Fire and Explosion Protection is hosting its professional conference "Safety in Tunnels" for the 13th time. Under the motto "Experts in Dialogue" specialists such as planners, operators and representatives of public authorities will be able to share experience and discuss best practice solutions at the two-day event, which also serves as a training event for all those involved in ensuring the safety of tunnel systems, such as tunnel managers and safety officers.

This annual conference provides an overview of changes to existing regulatory frameworks and the issue of new regulations plus an insight into the latest technical developments in road tunnels. A program of lectures tackles the subject of security and fire protection during the construction, commissioning and operation of tunnel systems and addresses additional topics such as security concepts as well as fire protection measures in the redevelopment and recommissioning of existing tunnel systems. A large number of these are based on real-life projects.

One of the many highlights this year will be a presentation of the results of the research project "Cyber-Safe", which deals with the protection of tunnel and traffic control centres from cyber-attacks.
