High-precision tunnel surveying in Terzo Valico rail project

As part of the ongoing European project for the construction of a high-speed railway line from Genoa to Rotterdam, Consorzio Collegamenti Integrati Veloci (COCIV) is currently carrying out surveying in the 53 km long Terzo Valico section between Genoa and Milan, 36 km of which runs through tunnels.

The high-precision surveying is being performed using DMT's GYROMAT 5000, the most accurate surveying gyroscope in the world

After supplying the device in July 2019, DMT experts visited Genoa to train COCIV staff. Gyromat is now successfully being deployed for measurements along the route.

The Terzo Valico is one of the main engineering projects behind the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T), connecting high-speed rail lines across Europe, and will drastically reduce travel time between Genua and Milan.
